Yelp: help people choose you when they're comparing places

People open Yelp when they're deciding between a few places nearby. Your claimed page gives them the facts, the photos and your side of the story, in one place.

What's different on Yelp

Answer reviews in public or in private. Never ask for them.

Yelp gives owners two ways to answer a review: a public reply anyone can read, or a private message only the reviewer sees.

Yelp's rule is simple: don't ask for reviews. Not from customers, friends or your mailing list, and never in exchange for a discount. Its software may not recommend reviews that look prompted, so on Yelp, good answers matter more than more reviews.

Diagram: a customer review can be answered in two ways, a public reply under the review that everyone can read, or a private message that only the reviewer sees.

A customer's review

  • Public reply

Shows under the review, for everyone who reads it. Write it for the next customer as much as this one.

  • Private message

Only the reviewer sees it. Useful when the answer involves an order, a refund or personal details.

Your questions

What Yelp offers, and what we check with you

  1. Which business details matter most?

    On Yelp

Address, phone, website and opening hours, plus sections in your own words, such as specialties and your history.

    In your Obenan setup

We confirm which details your setup sends to Yelp. Yelp may check a change before it appears, so look at your page to see it there.

  2. Can I add photos?

    On Yelp

Yes. Owners can upload photos with captions. Customers add their own photos too.

    In your Obenan setup

We confirm whether your setup can send photos. A photo a customer uploaded stays theirs: it can't be removed through your connection.

  3. Can I read and reply to reviews?

    On Yelp

Yes, publicly or by private message. Yelp asks that replies come from the business itself, not from a partner on its behalf.

    In your Obenan setup

We confirm how your setup can help you read reviews and prepare replies. You publish them from your own Yelp account, and private messages always go from there.

  4. What do I need to get started?

    On Yelp

A claimed Yelp page. Claiming is free at biz.yelp.com.

    In your Obenan setup

Your claimed page for each location and someone who can sign in to it. Replying through a connection also needs the owner's own permission on Yelp.

Two doors, one set of facts

Customers at your physical door.AI agents at your digital door.

A complete page and calm, useful replies help someone who's comparing three places pick yours, and walk in knowing what to expect.

Yelp runs its own AI and reservation services, which partners get access to separately. A Yelp page alone doesn't let an AI agent book or buy from you: that takes a separate connection you authorize.
